Dead Space 2 is a survival horror third-person shooter built on the Visceral engine. It includes a single-player campaign and a team-based multiplayer mode. Instead of using a heads-up display, in-game holograms and indicators on the protagonist's armor display information such as ammunition and health. The single-player campaign follows Isaac Clarke as he battles his way through the Sprawl to confront the Marker, a mysterious artifact that infects humans and transforms them into deadly "Necromorphs." Dead Space 2 was the first game in the series to give Isaac a voice.
